OVERVIEW
When launching all new 2017 City, Honda needed to reinvent the model line with their South Asian consumers. The idea was to create an ad showcasing all the ways in which the Honda City is worlds ahead of the competition.
THE GOAL
Bring the big idea to the big screen.
CHALLENGES
Unable find an appropriate location that fits the look and the feel of the Honda City in the South Asia, it was decided to move the production to Downtown Los Angeles.
Just one small problem - there was no car. Honda required Los Angeles cityscapes for a model not available in the U.S.

SOLUTIONS
-
Found 5 DTLA locations that correspond with the story board the most
-
Arranged 6k drone photography to get the Birdseye view of a car moving through the city and highways
-
Partnered with one of the best computer
graphics team in the world for post-production
-
As Honda City is not sold in US, my team found a car with the exact measurements in order for CG team to edit it in post
-
Got all permits & insurance, to allow the drone to fly over LA buildings and roads.
-
Hired LAPD officers to be able to block the traffic and clear Los Angeles highways off other cars.
-
Fit the shoot into one day in order to fit the budget requirements
-
Kept clear communication with agencies, film crews & foreign graphics team to execute the project in 14 day timeframe
EXECUTION

How several made up locations became a reality with good location management and some post production magic

Explaining the idea, shots and the logistics to our brave, mustached LAPD officers

Trying to get the best out of the day before the sun goes down. Even the drone looks tired.
